Griff Coleman

Like most cultural anthropologists, Griff is in his element while navigating unfamiliar environments and situations. He thrives in foreign settings—conducting observations and interviews in people’s homes and workplaces then hitting the streets to further absorb nuances of the culture. While working with d.light, Griff spent two weeks in rural India exploring new lighting alternatives for small villages, sleeping in barns, eating their home-cooked meals, and engaging with families in order to understand their needs more deeply.

Griff holds a B.A. in anthropology from UCLA and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Columbia University.
